Seit im Herbst 2008 die erste EP dieser Jungs unsere Playlist regiert hat wie nichts anderes, stand ein Gig des Dreamteams aus Brooklyn ganz oben auf der Wunschliste. Drei Alben später ist das Duo zum ersten mal in Europa und ein Traum wurde wahr: THE DOPPELGANGAZ IN ERFURTCITY.
Ein weiterer Beweis dafür das Oldschool nichts mehr im Weg steht. Man muss es einfach nur machen! Die zwei Doppelgänger Matter ov Fact & EP bestechen durch klassisches Storytelling, wortgewandt und punktgenau. Die Beats knistern fein und grooven bis ins Mark. Da klingen Jazzsamples und kratzende Basslines nach dem ungeschliffenen Flavor des New Yorker Hip Hop seiner besten Zeit. Auch der zurückgelehnte, unaufgeregte Flow der Beiden erinnert an eine Ära, als sich noch kein Hipster in die Blocks von Brooklyn wagte. Hip Hop für 90er-Nostalgiker und Freunde des relaxten Scheiss. Ganz weit vorne dieses Jahr!

Noisemaker Media and King RA present “Focus”. King RA is a Jersey City-based artist whose rugged flow and gruff voice exemplifies the uncompromising sound of East Coast Hip Hop to the fullest. Focus isn’t your typical braggadocio rap fair, as it holds more substance beneath the surface. King RA tells a modest tale of an emcee whose ascension from peddler to professional brings to life the adversities that Hip Hop artists face throughout their careers.
